Work package 5 (WP 5) - LCA-LCC

WP5 is concerned with LCA (environmental impact) and LCC (cost analysis) of ships.  The work includes development and refinement of design and verification tools that will make it possible to compare cost and environmental aspects involved in changing from conventional to lightweight materials.  In addition, its work includes the production of end-of-life decommissioning plans for lightweight vessels, with the emphasis on recycling and recovery.  This includes the preparation of information for the manufacturing process to facilitate end-of-life recovery/recycling of materials. 

The Royal Institute of Technology, Machine Design Section, is responsible for WP5.
